Development Associate
Position Description
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: Resource Development Interns
and volunteers
Major Function: The Resource Development Associate manages all aspects of IPM’s Resource Development activities and supports the Chief
Executive Officer in the promotion
of IPM and management
of donor & constituent relations while working
collaboratively with the other members of IPM’s leadership team.
Duties of the
Resource Development Associate include, but are not limited to:
1. Annual Fund
a) Receives and responds to phone, mail and
e-mail inquiries from donors and interested parties
b) Manages the IPM annual fund development process through:

all
annual fund mailings including the Annual Report
·
targeted
special appeals with a special emphasis on the work of IPM’s
international Partners
·
maintenance
of relationships with relevant printing & mailing services
·
ensures
appropriate infrastructure capacity at IPM
·
coordinates
IPM’s relationship with relevant vendors
c) Coordinates the major annual donor
solicitation and visitation schedules of IPM’s
Growing
Resources in Partnerships international
donor program (GRiP)
d) Develops
and coordinates conversion of Immersion Experience Program participants to
donors
e)
Manages IPM’s Raiser’s Edge database,
including coordination of all data entry and donor acknowledgment
2. Major & Special Gift Fund
Development
a) Develops relationships, coordinates meetings and prepares proposals for
philanthropic organizations and major donors with a special focus on IPM’s primary and secondary markets and Regional Offices in
El Salvador, India, and Kenya
b) Coordinates special giving
solicitations and campaigns including through Giving Circles
c) Manages IPM’s
Corporate and Foundation Relations program
3. Special Events
a) Coordinates Annual Luncheon
and Namaste Celebration (Cleveland)
b)
Coordinates IPM’s Annual Donor Appreciation
Brunch (St. Louis)
c)
Works with IPM Staff and volunteers to develop
new special events for targeted regions
4. Planned Giving
a)
Integrates comprehensive planned giving program at IPM
b) Develops and coordinates gift acceptance
policies and related material
c) Administers all IPM
gift policy vehicles in concert with Director of Administration & Finance
5. Public & Constituent
Relations
a) Staffs the Board Resource
Development Committee & supplemental Development body
b) Manages IPM’s
Annual Communications Plan with a special emphasis on Social Media
c) Participates in local networks
of like-minded academic, social service, and philanthropic organizations
6. Other
