Our client – a leading North American manufacturer of
horticultural supplies has an immediate opening for a
Shipping and Fulfillment Manager. Since it's founding in the early
1900's the company has blossomed into one of the country's largest supplier's.
Today customers can select from a wide array of custom and inventoried stock
products for their horticultural sales success. The Shipping and Fulfillment
Manager will interact closely with both operations and sales while supervising
and coordinating the shipping and fulfillment process of a high volume of sku's from production to the customer. This individual's
responsibility is to oversee the fulfillment operation including pick and pack,
transportation, material handling and inventory control.
Essential job functions and projects will include:
· Develop and manage a strategic inventory optimization work plan
· Establish and monitor achievement of strategic, financial and operational
benefits, ensuring planned business outcomes and client satisfaction are
achieved.
· Perform value analysis to identify value creation opportunities for clients.
· Provide data requirements for on time performance, profitability, cost
savings initiatives and labor utilization analysis.
· Provide and/or secure costing for fulfillment contracts.
· Support and report on applicable contracts and investment proposals.
· Work in conjunction with sales to establish effective fulfillment programs.
· Establish an effective root cause cycle count and physical inventory program.
· Develop and maintain inventory/security controls to prevent shrinkage and
shortages. Mandatory Qualifications:
· Must have Bachelor's degree, in Supply Chain, Logistics, or an
industry-related field, from an accredited four-year university or college.
· Must have 3 to 5 years of experience and working knowledge of
fulfillment/distribution systems and processes, productivity standards, and
technology in a high volume sku and/or pick and pack
environment
· Must have 3 to 5 years of logistics experience including contract
development.
· Must be computer literate (PC and Warehouse Management Systems).
